“There isn't time, so brief is life, for bickerings, apologies, heartburnings, callings to account. There is only time for loving, and but an instant, so to speak, for that.”

A Compassionate Approach to Couples Therapy
I have a compassionate approach to couples work that draws heavily from Emotionally Focused Therapy. Having a collaborative, curious, and emotionally attuned way of connecting to both partners is key to creating change, both within each person and in the “in-between” space that is the relationship. I believe it is also important to address past traumas, especially those related to attachment needs. These may include such things as not having a consistent safe caregiver to turn to as a child, being abandoned, or having to prematurely care for a parent as a child. It is also important for each partner to feel heard, seen, and accepted. As a therapist, I help couples to bring more vulnerable emotions to the surface and explore new ways of interacting.
The work can be intense, but also very rewarding, as your relationship grows into a source of strength and support for both of you.
A Welcoming Space for Diverse Couples
I work with couples of all races, genders, and sexual orientations. No matter how you identify, I have experience with a broad range of relationship types. I support couples who are married or unmarried, as well as those searching for clarity about whether to stay together or part ways. I also support couples where one or both partners are neurodivergent, on the Autism Spectrum, or have some form of disability. All are welcome.
